Arrive Kuching

On arrival, meet your Tour Executive who will assist and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is for your to explore the old colonial city centre of Kuching or just be at leisure.

Rainforest Kayaking & Semenggoh Orang Utan Center

After an early breakfast proceed to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to view orphaned or rescued semi-wild orangutans in a natural setting. Later continue to Bengoh, the starting point of your kayak adventure. Float down a river that meanders through spectacular limestone hills clad with tropical rainforest and punctuated with Class 1 to Class 2 rapids providing a thrilling water ride. Visit a friendly Bidayuh Village, have a swim in the cool refreshing mountain water and enjoy a light picnic lunch on the sandy riverbank.

Drive to Batang Ai reservoir. Later, board a local longboat and travel upriver to the Iban village.

Today after an early breakfast drive to Batang Ai reservoir. Along the way stop for lunch and stroll around the shops at Lachau Bazaar. Board a local longboat and travel upriver to the Iban village.

Check - in & relax

Check-in and rest of the day is free to explore. In evening visit Nanga Sumpa longhouse. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Interact with the community; learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine.

Hike, the jungle trails along the river to another community then continue upriver by longboat

Following breakfast hike, the jungle trails along the river to another community then continue upriver by longboat. On the way relax, swim, enjoy the Enseluai waterfall and rainforest surroundings. After BBQ lunch trek for 1-2 hours along a rainforest trail through the orangutan habitat and arrive at the jungle camp.

Check-in and spend rest of the day in leisure. After dinner spend a quiet evening or go for a night walk near the lodge and enjoy the tranquillity of the forest. Stay two nights at Lubok Kasai jungle camp.

Trekking on one of the rainforest trails

After breakfast depart 0830-0900 hours and go trekking on one of the rainforest trails to look for orangutans and other wildlife like pig-tailed macaques, hornbills and a variety of birds. Return for the lunch at the camp, relax at the lodge or go for a swim in the river. Around 1600 hours depart on a 1-2 hour walk along a trail that follows the Lalang River and search of orang-utans.

Travel to the Batang Ai Lake jetty followed by overland back to Kuching

After breakfast travel downriver to the Batang Ai Lake jetty followed by overland back to Kuching with lunch en-route.

After breakfast transfer to board flight to Kota Kinabalu.

Kinabalu National Park Botanical

After breakfast enjoy an excursion to Kinabalu Park, enjoy a guided nature walk with a park naturalist to see an impressive collection of mountain flora and fauna. After lunch visit the National Park gallery providing more information on the park’s botanic diversity.

Transfer to board flight to Lahad Datu

Transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport to board flight to Lahad Datu.

Check-in and late afternoon take a short trek

On arrival transfer to Tabin Wildlife Reserve and afternoon take a short trek through the jungle to the Lipad mud volcano. After dinner, enjoy a slide presentation on Tabin’s uniqueness, followed by a Night Safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. Stay two nights in Tabin Wildlife Resort.

Lipad Mud Volcano

After breakfast, drive to the core area for animal spotting before trekking through the lush green rainforest known for its rich diversity of plants and animals including the Borneo pygmy elephant, wild cats amongst other elusive Borneo wildlife species. After some rest take a dip in the natural pool followed by a lunch and a short break. In the afternoon take a short trek through the jungle to the Lipad mud volcano. Your guides will set up camp for the night at the observation tower. Stay alert during the night to observe any visits by wildlife to feed on minerals at the mud volcano. Stay overnight in the camp.

Explore the surrounding followed by a night safari

Early in the morning, break camp and return to the Tabin Wildlife Resort. After breakfast, stroll to the nearby Rock Pool or wander along the river where groups of macaques and other small mammals can sometimes be seen. Dinner followed by a night safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. Stay overnight in Tabin Wildlife Resort.

Transfer to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge via Lahad Datu and Sukau

Enjoy your leisurely breakfast in the serene environment at the Café and observe birds, small mammals and insects that are active in the vicinity. On-time transfer to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge via Lahad Datu and Sukau.

Reach and explore the wildlife

Reach and observe Borneo riverine wildlife – endemic proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills, crocodiles, macaques, elephants and occasionally orangutan. 1630 hours go on a river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to the Menanggul River in search of probosci's monkeys, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Stay two nights at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge (non-air conditioned).

Bird watching and wildlife viewing

0630 hours take a boat trip for bird watching and wildlife viewing at the nearby Ox Bow Lake. Then return to the lodge for breakfast. Free at leisure to relax. 1630 hours venture on another river cruise down the Menanggul River in search of wildlife. Return to the lodge at dusk. Evening at leisure.

Departure transfer

After breakfast tour finishes with the direct transfer to Sandakan airport (SDK) where you board your onwards flight.
