Honeymoon in Borneo

On arrival at Sandakan airport from Kuala Lumpur meet and transfer to MY Nature Resort at Sepilok. Set in 25 acres of rainforest bordering the Sepilok forest reserve, a protected area rich in wildlife. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to relax, swim in the pool or go for a walk on the resort’s own 1,050-metre long boardwalk. Stay two nights in Sepilok

Today visit the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. Then to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see sun bears in and outdoor enclosures. Before noon board and enjoy a one-hour boat ride up the Lower Kinabatangan River, passing pristine mangrove forests and searching for wildlife. After Lunch at Abai Jungle Lodge, you are free to relax or explore the surrounding area on the nature boardwalk. The late afternoon goes in search of probosci's monkeys, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. After dinner, go on a guided night walk around the Lodge’s nature boardwalk. Stay two nights at Abai Jungle Lodge (non-air conditioned).

Early morning take another boat trip for bird watching and wildlife viewing at the nearby Pitas Lake. After breakfast at the lodge visit the nearby Abai village and participate in a tree-planting project. Enjoy a local-style lunch prepared and served by the villagers. Rest and relax before another cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife.

After breakfast morning is free at leisure to relax or explore the boardwalk. After lunch, cruise upriver to Sukau, searching for wildlife along the way. Afternoon go on a river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to the Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight in Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge (non-air conditioned).

After an early breakfast transfer to Sandakan by boat. The 2½ hour journey offers another chance to see wildlife. Stop at Abai Jungle Lodge for a short break before continuing your journey downriver to Sandakan jetty and transfer to Sandakan airport to board a flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival transfer to the Jesselton Jetty for a scheduled boat trip to Bunga Raya Island Resort. Stay six nights in Gaya Island.

After breakfast depart the island by scheduled boat and return to the Jesselton Jetty. The tour finishes with a transfer from the jetty to Kota Kinabalu airport where you board a flight for your onwards journey.
