Highlights of Borneo

On arrival, meet your Tour Executive who will assist and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is for your to explore the old colonial city centre of Kuching or just be at leisure. Stay two nights in Kuching.

After an early breakfast proceed to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to view orphaned or rescued semi-wild orangutans in a natural setting. Later continue to Bengoh, the starting point of your kayak adventure. Float down a river that meanders through spectacular limestone hills clad with tropical rainforest and punctuated with Class 1 to Class 2 rapids providing a thrilling water ride. Visit a friendly Bidayuh Village, have a swim in the cool refreshing mountain water and enjoy a light picnic lunch on the sandy riverbank.

Today after an early breakfast drive to Batang Ai reservoir. Along the way stop for lunch and stroll around the shops at Lachau Bazaar. Board a local longboat and travel upriver to the Iban village. After free to explore and evening visit Nanga Sumpa longhouse. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Interact with the community; learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine. Stay overnight at Nanga Sumpa lodge.

Following breakfast hike, the jungle trails along the river to another community then continue upriver by longboat. On the way relax, swim, enjoy the Enseluai waterfall and rainforest surroundings. After BBQ lunch trek for 1-2 hours along a rainforest trail through the orangutan habitat and arrive at the jungle camp. After dinner spends a quiet evening or go for a night walk near the lodge and enjoy the tranquillity of the forest. Stay two nights at Lubok Kasai jungle camp.

After breakfast depart 0830-0900 hours and go trekking on one of the rainforest trails to look for orangutans and other wildlife like pig-tailed macaques, hornbills and a variety of birds. Return for the lunch at the camp, relax at the lodge or go for a swim in the river. Around 1600 hours depart on a 1-2 hour walk along a trail that follows the Lalang River and search of orang-utans.

After breakfast travel downriver to the Batang Ai Lake jetty followed by overland back to Kuching with lunch en-route. Evening free to relax or explore the town and stay overnight in Kuching.

After breakfast transfer to board flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport to board flight to Lahad Datu.  On arrival transfer to Tabin Wildlife Reserve and afternoon take a short trek through the jungle to the Lipad mud volcano. After dinner, enjoy a slide presentation on Tabin’s uniqueness, followed by a Night Safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. Stay two nights in Tabin Wildlife Resort.

You may opt to join the early morning bird walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich collection of almost 300 bird species. After breakfast, embark on a trek through the lush green rainforest known for its rich diversity of plants and animal species to visit the Lipad Waterfall.  In the evening, go on a dusk drive to look for nocturnal wildlife.

Enjoy your leisurely breakfast and tour finishes with the direct transfer to Lahad Datu where you board your flight to Kota Kinabalu.
