This tour combines culture and relaxation, taking in some of Sri Lanka’s finest historical, archaeological and natural treasures, tea plantations, local experiences, shopping and the pleasures of a few days by the sea. This is a leisure-paced tour and an excellent all-round introduction to Sri Lanka.

DAY 1

On arrival at the airport, meet your tour manager at the arrival lounge who will assist you and transfer to Negombo. Stay two nights.

DAY 2

Start the day with Negombo, a fisherman village, visiting traditional Fish Market, harbour, St. Mary’s Church and Angurukaramulla Temple. Afternoon free to relax or explore the town.

DAY 3

After leisurely breakfast travel to Dambulla. Afternoon free to enjoy walk through the village and stay two nights.

DAY 4

Morning visit impressive 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress and for those who have chosen not to climb they can explore Museum located at the ground level. Later travel to Minneriya National Park to enjoy a safari.

DAY 5

After breakfast, leave for Kandy. En route, stop at Matale and enjoy walk through the spice garden to witness various plants and herbs. Small demonstration by naturopath is organised to understand why these plant-based medicines are still a part of the local culture. Stay two nights.

DAY 6

Today, explore the Kandy, last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Start the city tour with visit the Temple of the Tooth relic, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Gem Museum and in the evening, witness a traditional Kandan dance accompanied by live music.

DAY 7

After breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya. This hill station is known as ‘Little England’ since its adoption by colonial British tea planters. The evening is kept free to enjoy a long walk and stay two nights.

DAY 8

Morning visit a Tea Plantation and Factory to observe the process of turning a raw green leaf into the finished product. Afternoon enjoy High Tea and evening free to relax or explore this small town.

DAY 9

Today we leave Hill country and proceed to the sandy beaches of the coastal line. Rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy two nights stat at the beach resort.

DAY 10

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and the day is free to relax on the beach.

DAY 11

After breakfast, leave for Colombo, a favourite port-to-call since the ancient times and now commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Afternoon enjoy a city tour and visit Independence Square, Colombo Museum, the Beira Lake, Pettah Markets, Galle Face Green and street food shops. Stay overnight.

DAY 12

After leisurely breakfast, tour finishes with direct transfer to the Colombo airport.
