DAY 1

On arrival direct transfer to the Safdarjung Railway station. Around 4.30 PM check-in formalities are completed with the traditional welcome. At 6.30 PM the vibrantly decorated Palace on Wheels begins its eight-day odyssey cutting across the scenic landscapes and rich heritage of India.

DAY 2

The guests enjoy a delectable breakfast aboard and visit Albert Hall Museum followed by a host of architectural marvels - Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Amber Fort. Late afternoon explore the local Bazaar for unique handicrafts.

DAY 3

Disembark for a safari in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board while the train continues its journey to Chittorgarh for an afternoon city tour. Before returning on train enjoy High Tea at the fort and a light and sound show.

DAY 4

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour and visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, the city palace and the crystal gallery that provide a breath-taking view of its cultural significance. After lunch is served at the Palace proceed to a boat ride to the resplendent Jagmandir Palace for tea.

DAY 5

Enjoy breakfast onboard before city tour to the serene spot of Gadsasir Sagar Lake, stunning forts, the innumerable Havelis, sam sand dunes. Evening leaves Jaisalmer and heads towards Jodhpur.

DAY 6

Explore the architectural and magnificent marvel of Mehrangarh Fort and the surrounding cenotaph of Jaswanth Thada. Celebrate a glimpse of the history at the Umaid Bhavan Museum and cap it all off by shopping in the nearby local markets.

DAY 7

Start a day with a visit to world-renowned Keola Deo sanctuary that hosts thousands of local and migratory birds. Visit Agra Fort, the Taj Mahal and local market in the afternoon.

DAY 8

After early breakfast journey on the Palace On Wheels come to an end. On arrival transfer to the airport to board the flight to Kolkata. Evening explores famous Chowringhee Lane and stay three nights at the hotel.

DAY 9

Today start your city sightseeing tour with a visit to one of the largest Bustling outdoor market offering a wide selection of colourful flowers and garlands. Later visit Kumortuli, a traditional potter’s area renowned for its sculpting prowess, which not only manufactures clay idols for various festivals but also regularly exports them.

DAY 10

Today visit Victoria Memorial and its museum, Belur Math, Howrah Bridge and drive past Mother Teresa’s House. Evening free to explore the surrounding area and local bazaar.

DAY 11

Transfer to board the flight to Jorhat/Dibrugarh airport and drive to Steemer Ghat, a lovely beach below jungle-covered hills to board your ship.

DAY 12

Enjoy morning jeep safari at UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kaziranga, home to the world’s largest population of the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, Indian Elephant, Wild Water Buffalo and also earned the distinction of having the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers.

DAY 13

This morning, walk through the town and visit Vishwanath, known for a 12-18 century Ahom-period Shiva temple.

DAY 14

This morning, we take a jeep safari to Kaziranga’s little-visited Eastern Range, with grasslands much favoured by rhinos where you might also spot the rare Bengal Florican.

DAY 15

Another day spent cruising upstream. We shall take time to pause and walk through a bankside village, getting an insight into the life of rural India.

DAY 16

Today we explore Majuli Island, one of the world’s largest river islands. A microcosm of Assamese culture showcasing a unique way of life. Visit a monastery at Auniati with an eclectic museum, then attend a dance performance at Kamalabari monastery.

DAY 17

We visit Horu Charai tea estate and explore Sibsagar, the one-time capital of the Ahom kings of Assam. Continue cruise to Dikhou Mukh close to Sibsagar.

DAY 18

Disembark after breakfast and tour finish with direct transfer to the nearby airport.
