This historic tour begins in the former princely city of Hyderabad, a cornucopia of contrasts, rich in Imperial heritage and new age industry. A legacy of the decadent Nizams is the trade of pearls, gold, fabric and of course diamonds. Travel from this Islamic pocket in southern India to the intrinsically Hindu collection of temples at Badami, Aihole, Pattadakal and on to Hampi and the ancient Vijayanagar Empire to see some of India’s most intricate historical stone carvings. Most of the monument visited in this tour is now UNESCO World Heritage Site and showcasing glorious past of the area. If you wish at the end of your explorations through history you can add to stay at Goa, renowned for its endless beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture.

DAY 1

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our Tour Manager at the airport lounge with a TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hyderabad.

DAY 2

Morning after breakfast, proceed for a guided sightseeing tour of Hyderabad. Visit Charminar -(The Charminar is as much the signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal is of Agra or the Eiffel Tower of Paris. It is a magnificent square edifice of granite, built upon four grand arches facing North, South, East and West). Visit Mecca Masjid - (A hundred yards southwest of the Charminar is the Mecca Masjid, so named because the bricks were brought from Mecca to build the central arch), you then proceed to see the magnificent Salar Jung Museum - (A collection of art objects by Nawab Salar Jung III, this museum houses magnificent exhibits of European and Indian paintings and statuary), Tank Bund - (Hyderabad's most popular promenade, the Tank Bund dams, the Hussain Sagar lake, on which stands the world's tallest monolithic statue of the Buddha. the statue stands at 58 feet (18 m) and weighed 350 tons. A concrete platform measuring 15 feet (4.6 m), now referred to as the "Rock of Gibraltar “ was constructed in the middle of Hussain Sagar to aid in erecting the statue. Hussain Sagar also lines 33 statues of famous personalities of the state. Overnight at Hyderabad.

DAY 3

Morning after breakfast, drive to Gulbarga en route visiting Bidar – a tiny district steeped in history. The Fort, the Cannons, Palaces in ruins, the magnificent tombs and the massive monuments, all combine to make a visit to the one-time capital of the Bahamani and Barid Shahi dynasties. Proceed to Gulbarga, check into the hotel. Evening stroll around the small city. Overnight at Gulbarga.

DAY 4

Morning after an early breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing of Gulbarga: - Hindu city before the Mohammedan conquest, Gulbarga is a unique synthesis of two cultures. We will start our tour with the Fort. The most important monument in Gulbarga is probably the Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah. The tomb of the great Sufi saint, Khwaja Syed Mohammed Gesu Daraz. After sightseeing, proceed to Bijapur. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Evening at Leisure. Overnight at Bijapur.

DAY 5

This morning after breakfast proceed for a short drive to the Gol Gumbaz, the tomb of Mohammed Adil Shah, boasts of the second-largest tomb in the world. Jumma Masjid – has been called one of the finest mosques in India. Later drive to Badami en-route visiting Aihole as the "cradle of Indian architecture", Aihole has over 100 temples scattered around the village. Continue drive to Badami, the capital of early Chalukyas is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills. Check into the hotel. Afternoon, proceed for a short drive to visit the Cave temples – dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva. Climb a flight of steps to reach the ancient caves – all hewn out of sandstone on the precipice of a hill. Overnight at Badami.

DAY 6

Morning after breakfast, start your tour of Badami. Visit North Fort, Banashankari, and Mahakuta. After the short sightseeing of Badami proceed your drive to Hospet en route stop at Pattadakal situated on the bank of the Malarapbha river which has ten major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture. Later continue drive to Hospet. Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. Hospet is the nearest small market town and a base for seeing Hampi. Evening if the time permits visit The Tungabhadra Dam (6 km). Overnight at Hospet.

DAY 7

Morning set your turn for an excursion to Hampi - also known as ‘ THE FORT OF VICTORY – VIJAYANAGARA’, situated on the banks of the river Tungabhadra in the region of Bellary, is a vast site of monuments and ruins, a mute witness to an era of glories, triumphs and tragedies. The ruins of Hampi, are so majestic and imposing that they leave the visitor totally dumbfounded, awestruck and humbled. Visit the Virupaksha Temple, rises majestically at the western end of a 670m long street that was once the famous Hampi bazaar. This is the only temple at Hampi that is still used for worship. The most splendid monument of Hampi is undoubtedly The Vitthala Temple Complex. The 56 pillars in the main hall produce musical notes when struck. Hampi is full of such surprises. Evening return back to Hospet. Overnight at Hospet.

DAY 8

Morning after breakfast further drive down to Dandeli National Park - Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary abounds with a richness of Flora and Fauna. Its richness and diversity offer ample opportunities to nature lovers to enjoy the captivating landscape. The sanctuary is generally undulating with steep slopes with picturesque deep river valleys and rich hilly forest terrain. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Dandeli.

DAY 9

Morning & afternoon safari at Dandeli National Park. Spotting herds of wild elephants, deer, and predators catching their prey in their natural habitat is much more exciting than watching a wildlife documentary on television. Dandeli is home of thousands of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. The varied climate and landscape of this place make this land ideal for the wildlife. The rivers and dense forests play an important role in the growth of animals in Dandeli National Park. The animals which are found here are Black Panther, Bison, Elephant and if you are lucky you may even catch a glimpse of the Tiger, one of the surviving members of this wildlife sanctuary.

DAY 10

After breakfast at the hotel, the tour finishes with the Direct Transfer to Goa Airport to board your connecting flight.
