This unusual but fascinating tour offers a glimpse of a part of India that is often neglected by visitors. East India combined covers a vast and uneven terrain along the Indo-China border. Sloping down from the lower heights of the Himalayan peaks, this area is dotted with dense forests and blessed with differing climate zones, making this region an eco-tourism paradise, with lush flora and fauna. This short tour covers two states of East India; West Bengal to witness its glorious past and present unique culture; and Orissa, a large, verdant state clinging to the Bay of Bengal coast with its tribal villages, sandy beaches, extraordinary temples and mighty monuments.

Your journey begins from the historic city of Calcutta (Kolkata) which was once the capital of the Raj and popularly known as the “City of Joy’’ and home to legendary Mother Teresa. Continue your journey to down south to Odisha that offers interesting combinations of sand, temples and caves that dates back many centuries.

DAY 1

On arrival at the airport, meet your Tour Executive who will assist you to transfer to the hotel for two nights stay in Kolkata.

DAY 2

After a short tour briefing, proceed for a sightseeing tour of this multicultural historical city. Visit Victoria Memorial, Town Hall, St. John's Church, one of Asia's Largest flower Market, Kumar Tuli and conclude your day walking through Chowringhee lane to witness colonial-style cafes.

DAY 3

Morning transfer to the railway station to board a train for Bhubaneswar having. The lively capital of Odhissa since the ancient 'Kalinga' empire boasts settlement stretching back 2000 years. Met upon arrival & transfer to your hotel. Overnight Hotel at Bhubaneswar where you'll stay for two nights.

DAY 4

After breakfast, we start our guided sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar and visit the most important temples such as Lingaraja and Mukteshwa which are one of the best examples of Odhisa architecture from the 7th to 10th century. Next visit Dahuligiri, With the beautiful Daya River lying in the proximity, you have the ancient land of Dhauli that lets you know about the enormous battles that were fought here, the Kalinga War of 261 B.C. Buddhism for which Dhauli is so well known played a crucial role in transforming King Ashoka to a diehard Buddha devotee who eventually followed the preaching of Buddha for the rest of his life. Dhauli is famous for the edicts related to Buddhism that were composed of the Brahmi script and used Prakrit language. One can spot a series of rock-cut monuments at this hill. Numerous artefacts tell us about the urban settlement at this place in the 3rd century B.C. One finds the image of the intricately carved elephant and close to this elephant, you have a stupa the place where king Ashoka renounced violence and embraced Buddhist. Later enjoy an excursion to the remarkable sites of Udaigiri and Khandagiri. These hill locations are full of carved reliefs and pagodas and are ancient seats of Jainism, which are historically known.  After the sightseeing return to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 5

After breakfast drive to the coastal settlement of Puri on the way visiting 64 Yogini Temple (Only one of its type in India in best-preserved condition) at Heerapur and also visit the Bell Metal Workers’ village. Continue your journey stopping at Pipli (Appliqué-work village), Pipli is the capital of appliqué craft in Orissa. Most of the work sold on the street stalls of Pipli is produced for a growing tourist market, however, superb craftwork is still produced and available if you have the time to look around. The villagers of Pipli produce appliqué art, a process of cutting coloured cloth into shapes of animals, birds, flowers leaves gods, goddesses and other decorative motifs and stitching them over a piece of cloth. These creations are then fabricated into lampshades, handbags, cushion covers or even garden umbrellas. Birpratappur (Brahmin village) & Raghurajpur (Artisans’ village declared as Heritage village). On arrival check into the hotel and stay two nights in Puri.

DAY 6

Morning excursion to Konark, a UNESCO world heritage site. En-route visit Stone Carver's village at Chhaitana. In the evening explore the Town.

DAY 7

Morning after breakfast drive towards Gopalpur en-route stop at Chilka. Chilka is Asia’s largest brackish water lake spread over 1,100 square kilometres. It is home to thousands of migratory bird which includes Siberian Crane, grey-legged geese, flamingos, purple moorhens, jacana, and herons. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake. Continue your journey to Gopalpur famous for its virgin beaches. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. Rest of the evening will be spent at leisure exploring the beautiful beaches. Stay two nights at Gopalpur.

DAY 8

After breakfast day excursion to Taptapani and Chandragiri. Visit Taptapani, famous for the hot spring which lies on a hillock in the deep forest, is 50 km from Berhampur. Next, visit the Tibetian settlement at Chandragiri to explore the new world amidst of natural forest and SAORA villages.  Stay overnight at Gopalpur.

DAY 9

After breakfast tour finish with transfer to Bhubaneswar airport where you can fly to Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad to board your International flight.
