This tour is an overview of India and Nepal’s diverse regions and local cultures. Beginning in Delhi, the bustling capital of India, you enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of old and New Delhi visiting the famous Lakshmi Narayan Temple, The Raj Ghat (a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi). Drive past the India Gate, the President residence – formerly the Viceroy’s Palace, Parliament house and the Central Secretariat buildings. You also visit the 12th Century Qutab Minar and the iron pillar.

Continue to Udaipur where you can relax in the late afternoon on a boat cruise on Lake Pichola and visit the island palace of Jag Niwas. Visit the City Palace, The Jagdish Temple, Sahelion ki Bari gardens and fountains later driving around the Fatehsagar Lake. Proceed to Jodhpur en-route visiting the famous Jain Temples in Ranakpur. In Jodhpur, visit the Mehrangarh Fort and proceed to the Jaswant Thada. At the end of the tour enjoy a short walk through the local and the vibrant bazaars of Jodhpur. Continue your trip to Jaipur and visit the Amber Fort.

From the ‘Pink City’ we travel to Ranthambore National Park, one of the world’s finest wild life sanctuaries which was once a hunting ground of the kings and now a reserved wild life park. Enjoy your two game drives to spot the various species of wild life and capture their images in your camera.

One cannot forget a visit to the Taj, an eternal monument of love build by Emperor Akbar for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Also listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, stop to mesmerise yourself in the immense beauty of the structure before continuing your trip to the Agra Fort. Continuing trip to Khajuraho, after spending an overnight, in the morning after our breakfast, proceed on our exploration to the temples belonging to the Chandela Dynasty. These temples are famous for their spectacular architecture as well as craftsmanship and also famous for their sculptures and erotic carvings. Continue on your Indian expedition and visit Varanasi a holy town in Banaras considered to be one of the oldest cities of the world and a spiritual centre of the Hindu Religion. Regarded as an important Hindu pilgrimage site one can watch the faith and religion as people congregate on the Ghats (also known as the stone steps) along the banks of holy river Ganga (Ganges). Watch people performing ritual ablutions. Visit the local villages and explore Varanasi’s old town, with ancient universities and renowned silk shops. Also, take an excursion to Sarnath, another holy place known to be the site where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon.

After this Indian odyssey we fly to Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal. Spend enough time doing sightseeing and exploring this extraordinary city. We visit the durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, Mahadev and Parvati temples. Take a walk in its vibrant bazaars and continue your sightseeing spree by visiting Patan, the second largest city in Nepal. International Flights

The tour packages are usually “Land Only” and do not include international flights.  We therefore recommend that you contact us or your travel agent to book your flights well in advance of travel, when you can generally gain access to specials and discounted airfares. This will ensure you can travel on the days that suit you and your tour.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our journeys. Speak to us or your travel agent about comprehensive insurance to cover your travel arrangements. This must critically cover medical expenses in case of an emergency.  Note that travel insurance automatically provided with credit cards generally does not provide adequate cover. Its your responsibility to ensure that you have appropriate and comprehensive travel insurance.

Medical Information

Our elderly travellers who are aged 70 years or more, or with a per-existing condition that affects their fitness to travel or any medical dietary requirement, must be advised at the time of booking. We recommend all travellers should visit their Doctor for these aforementioned purposes and/or to confirm that they are physically able to undertake the day-to-day requirements of the tour.

Selecting Your Holiday Type

Most of our journeys are suited to those with normal fitness and mobility levels. To assist you in choosing a journey best for you we have graded our tours;

Easy Paced: These programs are set at a comfortable pace. Walking and climbing of stairs involved is generally in and around major tourist attractions though you may require walking from road till boat jetty while embarking or disembarking boats.

Moderate: These tours are not strenuous but you will require good amount of fitness as they may include days with long periods of walking or soft trekking, climbing of stairs, embarking and disembarking boats and where longer distances may be travelled by uneven roads.

Adventurous: These refer to programs where your physical fitness needs to be on highest level. Trekking, cycling, climbing, walking and more adventurous activities may be included.

Getting Around

Comfort is our first priority. All our coaches are air-conditioned with push back seats. We even offer 30-35 seater coach when only 16 people are in a group, providing everyone a window seats. Our train journeys in air-conditioning sleeper class where bedding is provided by the train attendant and itineraries that include domestic flight to connect destination we use economy class.

Passport & Visas

India: Visa is required for all foreign nationals. 

Apply online for a Pre-Approval at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .The online application should be submitted a minimum of 4 days in advance and a maximum of 30days of the proposed date of travel. TVOA links may also be found in websites of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Incredible India etc.

As of 27 Nov 2014 nationals and passport holder of 34 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Luxem Bourg, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar to name a few,  can avail a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility upon disembarking at international airports Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trivandrum only. You will require to pay fees along with require documentation and is subject to verification and satisfaction of the Immigration. Please contact High Commission of India for updated information.

Sri Lanka: Every tourist visiting Sri Lanka required visa prior to departure. Visa must be obtained atleast 01 months prior to arrival in Sri Lanka by visiting www.eta.gov.lk The Tourist visa is valid for stay within 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Fee will apply.

Nepal: Visa is required for all foreign nationalities and the best way to apply for visa is from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. Tourist Visa also can be obtained on arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel in Nepal. Fee will apply.

Bhutan: All foreign nationals require visa for Bhutan.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Bhutan. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Bhutan.

Tourism Council of Bhutan issues visa clearance letter closer to travelling date which we email or fax you or your local travel agent. Travellers are required to produce aforesaid visa clearance copy at the time of check-in for their flights while those entering Bhutan by surface via Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jonkhar, they are required to produce this Visa Clearance letter at the Immigration counter. Actual visa is stamped at passport on arrival in Bhutan.

Visa only service is not offered in Bhutan, you would have to book a service tour package from TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS that includes accommodation, guided tours, transfers etc

Myanmar: Visa is required for all nationalities.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require international flight details, clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Myanmar. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Myanmar.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport, meet your tour manager in the arrival lounge who will assist you to transfer to the hotel where you will receive a traditional welcome. Stay two nights. (No Meal)


Day 02: Delhi

After an outline of the tour, we visit Old Delhi, drive past the Red Fort, explore Chandni Chowk Bazaar by rickshaw, Jama Masjid and Qutb Minar. Afternoon, visit New Delhi and pay respect at the Gandhi Memorial. On our way back we drive past Presidential Palace and parliament house. (B, D)


Day 03: Delhi - Udaipur

After breakfast transfer to board flight to Udaipur, a city of lakes, palaces and temples. The afternoon is free to explore the city. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 04: Udaipur

Start sightseeing tour with a visit to Saheliyon Ki Bari Gardens, the Folk Museum and Mewar Art Gallery. We also visit the City Palace and walk through the local streets and shops. Conclude your day with a relaxing cruise on Lake Pichola. (B, D)


Day 05: Udaipur – Jodhpur

Today we travel to Jodhpur and visit the intricately carved 15th Century marble Ranakpur temples, the largest Jain temple complex in India. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 06: Jodhpur

The morning we visit Mehrangarh Fort and the museum located in the Umaid Bhawan Palace. Enjoy an auto rickshaw ride through the market followed by a walking tour through the local vegetable and spice market. (B, D)


Day 07: Jodhpur – Jaipur

Journey through the colourful countryside to Jaipur. This afternoon we enjoy some shopping at the local bazaar in Choti Chopper located inside the walled city. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 08: Jaipur

Start sightseeing tour with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and visit Amber Fort. This afternoon, visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar and end the day with cultural evening and dinner. (B, D)


Day 09: Jaipur - Ranthambore

Today we head to Ranthambhore National Park, one of the most famous tiger reserves in Rajasthan. Evening free to explore the narrow streets of this small town. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 10: Ranthambhore 

Enjoy a morning and afternoon canter safari around the game reserve with an estimated area of 400sq km. Spot various wildlife species of animals, birds and reptiles and if lucky, see a Royal Bengal Tiger. (B, L, D)


Day 11: Ranthambore – Agra

This morning we travel to Agra en-route stopping by the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri. Visit palaces, Tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti and understand the reason behind the creation of a new Mughal city that was abandoned just a few years later. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 12: Agra

Early this morning we view the Taj Mahal as the sun is rising. Later we visit a marble inlay workshop followed by Agra Fort and Itimad-ud-Daulah Tomb also known as Baby Taj. (B, D)


Day 13: Agra – Lucknow

After breakfast travel to Lucknow. Known as ’The City of Nawabs’ and is an intriguing blend of old-world charm, beautiful architecture, warm hospitality, and rich heritage. The city has carved a niche by attracting gastronomes, for the want of discovering and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine. This is the place that has a full colony of chefs called, ‘Bawarchi Tola’ and also the full street, where one can find the best from Lucknow’s very own traditional kitchens. In the evening enjoy a walking food tour which allows you to hop-in, hop-out of the world-famous traditional roadside eateries. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 14: Lucknow

Enjoy a city sightseeing tour and visit Bada Imambara, a famous monument of Lucknow, Government Museum. In the afternoon visit a chikan workshop that will mesmerise you as you watch skilled workers delicately working in unique styles and stitches on very light cotton cloths. Also, take a leisure walk in Hazrat Ganj and Aminabad local bazaar. (B, D)


Day 15: Lucknow - Varanasi

An early morning transfer to board the express train to Varanasi. Afternoon we visit silk weaving village to see few remaining artisans carry out this centuries-old work. Evening, enjoy heritage walk to the Ghats and witness grand Ganges prayer ceremony. Stay two nights. (B, D)


Day 16: Varanasi

Start city tour with a sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges followed by a short heritage walk through the old city. After breakfast enjoys a city tour and an excursion to Sarnath. Evening free to explore this oldest spiritual town. (B, D)


Day 17: Varanasi - Delhi 

After breakfast transfer to board your flight to Delhi. The remainder of the day is free to explore or go shopping. Stay overnight. (B, D)


Day 18: Delhi – Kathmandu – Nagarkot 

Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Kathmandu. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to Nagarkot, when weather permits this is an excellent place to see the sunset and rise over the Himalayas. Stay overnight.  (B, D)


Day 19: Nagarkot – Kathmandu 

Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise before we travel back to Kathmandu En-route visit Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur. Stay three nights. (B, D)


Day 20: Patan Excursion 

We start our tour with a visit to the sacred temple known as Dakshinkali, then continue with sightseeing of Patan, the second-largest city in Nepal, visiting the Royal Palace and Durbar Square which are both UNESCO World Heritage sites. (B, D)


Day 21: Kathmandu

This morning we visit Durbar Square and the Kumari Temple and explore the Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhnath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Enjoy an evening visit to Thamel Market. (B, D)


Day 22: Kathmandu Departure

Darjeeling is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is noted for its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Darjeeling is the headquarters of Darjeeling district which has a partially autonomous status within the state of West Bengal.

The development of the town dates back to the mid-19th century, when the colonial British administration set up a sanatorium and a military depot. Subsequently, extensive tea plantation was done in the region, and tea growers developed hybrids of black tea and created new fermentation techniques. The resultant distinctive Darjeeling tea is internationally recognized and ranks among the most popular of the black teas.
